Social media feedback on magazine cover

For my magazine cover, I decided to get some feedback by showing my magazine cover to friends and members of my target audience, in order to achieve this, I posted my magazine front cover draft on Facebook along with a short message saying:

"This is the first draft for my Empire magazine cover for Media Studies, if you guys could give me feedback about what you like/don't like and what I should change that would be great, thanks!"

I asked for feedback in order to establish which bits of my magazine worked and which didn't, this was helpful as it highlighted areas of the magazine which would attract the viewers eye and which parts of the magazine were over complicated or confusing.

I received a range of feedback which I have compiled below, I have hidden the names of those people who commented for their privacy but you can see what they have said and how I have responded to their feedback.

The first comment I received was complimentary, saying "This looks good Seth!" They also jokingly recommended I put a quote from their company to promote his company but I was pleased that they liked the magazine cover.

The second comment I received was also complementary but also offered some good advice, he said that it looks good but to bear in mind that the feedback I will be getting is based off peoples opinions of how it looks and not how it fits with other magazines and how much it looks like an issue of Empire magazine or any other magazine. This was very helpful as it inspired me to photoshop a picture of my magazine front cover into a picture of a magazine rack sporting similar magazines and see if it fits, I tried this and noticed that it was very dark in comparison to the others and changed the Overdoze text to white where it fit better.
