Poster: What I need to do

Sketches
The first step is to do some rough sketches to plan how we want our poster to look, this will help us see who we want in the poster, where they are positioned and what will be in the mise en scene.

Collect Reference Photos
I am going to collect placeholder photos to use to create an idea of what the poster will look like before I have done the photoshoot, this will help me know what photos to take and what camera angles and frame sizes I will need.

Locations
The next step is to choose the locations I am going to use in my poster and therefore which locations I will need to take photos of and include in the photoshoot. I will take some rough photos to help decide what pictures I need from what angles for my poster.

Call sheets
I need to collect the contact information for everyone who is going to be in my poster so that I can organise with them when we are going to do the shoot and incase I need to contact them for anything else.

Model and crew
The main featured character in the poster will be Geoff but I need to decide who else is going to be in the poster and who will act them, it needs to be the same as who acted them in the trailer for consistency but I will also need to decide who is going to be in the crew behind the camera to help with the shoot.

Props and costumes
For the mise en scene I will need props and costumes to fit the generic conventions and make the poster look impressive, I will have to choose the costumes for each character in the poster and find some props which would fit the poster theme and make it look more complete.

Dates and times
Now that everything is pretty much planned, I need to choose a time and date where me and all my crew (including the actors in the poster) are free to do the photoshoot, this will require careful planning as everyone will be free at different times and I need a time that everyone can do.

Photoshoot
The next step is the photoshoot, now everything is planned for it I can go ahead and carry out the photoshoot, making sure to get enough photos of each item or character from a variety of angles and camera distances.

Choose best photos
All the photos from the photoshoot will be collected and I will go through and decide which photos of each character or location look and work the best. These will be the ones I will use in my poster.

Photoshop
Pretty much the final step, using photoshop to layer all the images on top of each other and edit them together so that it fits the conventions with layout and design, using a variety of fonts and sizes and making sure every aspect from the framing and mise en scene to the lighting, setting and shot distances fit the poster and that the use of ICT is appropriate to bring them together well.

Then my poster is complete.
