Today we recorded most of the voiceover for Geoff's character. We used the resources available to us in the form of the Music recording room and used a vocals microphone which was hooked up to a Mac computer to record Alfie's lines for his role as Geoff. I was very happy with this setup as it looks professional and provided us with good quality voiceovers for the parts that we recorded. This was not only extremely helpful but also pretty fun, we had a great time setting it up and playing around with testing the microphone, making jokes and having fun while also testing the audio levels on the microphone. Although we will probably have to record some future audio in our own time, the voiceover we have for now fits the trailer well and sounds good.
We were lucky to be able to use the recording room that the Music department owns as Adam and Lewis are both music students and know how to use all of the equipment, this worked fantastically and I'm grateful for the fact that we were allowed to use this more professional equipment instead of us a microphone that we had otherwise which would have not granted the same quality that we got from using the Music departments equipment which is purpose built for recording vocals.
